The Lloyds Bank - National Business Awards UK 2017

13th November 2018

The Employer of the Year

Have you achieved a significant increase in market share or won new clients due to an investment in your people?

Has your transformation programme delivered the new customers and increased productivity as planned but also high levels of employee engagement?

Celebrating organisations seeing the best return on an investment in people, this Award recognises the employee strategy that best attracts, retains and develops talent – and how being an employer of choice contributes to sustainable growth. Judges will look for evidence of how employees are engaged in strategic goals and company values, and how human and supporting resources have been optimised to achieve and sustain commercial and competitive success. They will also look at investment in people, initiatives to create a more collaborative culture, and the impact this has had on commercial performance.

Open to PLCs and private companies, public and third sector organisations, this Award will recognise the enterprise that has driven demonstrable excellence in the following key areas:

•      Employee development, retention and recruitment

•      Leadership and management

Alderman Tooling - The Howard Kennedy Employer of the Year 2017

"Alderman stood out to me as the employer of the year as the business had a really thorough understanding of the skills its employees need – both now and in the future. The collaborative NVQ training is simply brilliant and not only benefits Alderman’s, but other SMEs in the area. Karen’s work as a STEM ambassador is also strategically smart as it demonstrates the career path in these sectors and enables her to foster and encourage the next generation of employees."
