Peter Marks CEO, Co-Operative Group
Peter Marks has spent his entire working life within the Co-operative Movement, having joined Yorkshire Co-operatives in 1967 as a Management Trainee.
Over his career, Peter has managed numerous Co-operative businesses, including the food, travel, funeral and department store operations.
Since 2007, Peter has been Group Chief Executive of the Co-operative Group, during which time he has overseen a renaissance of the Co-operative brand, combining improved financial performance and increased commitment to the Group’s ethical stand, culminating in the recent acquisition of the Somerfield food store business and the merger with the Britannia Building Society.

John Stapleton Award winning presenter
John Stapleton is a former Royal Television Society Presenter of the Year. He was given this prestigious award in 2004 for his work on GMTV`s `The News Hour` and his contribution to the rest of the programme while on assignment at major news events. He co-presents GMTV with Penny Smith (Mondays-Fridays 6am-7am).
John has been at GMTV for over 12 years and has a total of 40 years experience in newspapers and television.
He has interviewed every Prime Minister since James Callaghan in the 1970’s and is the only presenter in TV to have worked for all three major breakfast tv stations: TV-am the BBC and now GMTV.
