Face-to-face recruitment and innovative marketing: The way forward for The Job Show'

The Job ShowThe Job Show™ launched in February 2013 is the UK’s fastest growing face-to-face recruitment and careers event. As finalists in the 2014 National Business Award, for the Corporate Responsibility Sector, The Job Show has been recognised for their innovative concept and services to the community.

Sparked by the tough economic climate, The Job Show™ recognised a need in the community to revitalise the traditional way of job seeking techniques. With today’s electronic and impersonal environment, they believe that ‘people buy people,’ so by gathering the region’s best employers, training providers, universities, colleges, and organisations, The Job Show™ provides the perfect platform to ‘unite talent with opportunity’, giving visitors the opportunity to come face-to - face with employers looking to train for a new career, seeking quality candidates, apprenticeships or simply getting back into work. 

The Job Show™ retains their own beliefs by recruiting ‘staff’ who attend their own events. They employ university graduates and school leavers who, with their local college take an apprenticeship programme and earn as they learn. The Job Show understand how daunting it is for young people leaving school to follow their dreams and find their career paths so by offering this opportunity, The Job Show™ train and develop them to be part of a fast growing company where career progression has no boundaries.

The apprentices are encouraged to showcase their own talents and are often seen in shopping centres pre-promoting The Job Show™ with their ‘street dance’ performances. The Job Show™  were also  recently commissioned by a South London Mental Health Hospital to produce a workshop  to engage with their 15 to 18 year olds patients - The results were heart- warming, the hospital commenting said: ’’ It was one of the best things the Hospital has ever seen for our young people to engage in’’

"The key to success is our innovative thinking,  marketing & PR , making sure we are ‘heard and seen’ - it’s about engaging with the community and letting them know The Job Show™ is for everyone."

Since February 2013 and with just a team of 4, The Job Show™ has launched 26 shows attracting over 150 National companies, nearly 50,000 registrations and people through the door in areas such as Peterborough, Leicester, Coventry, Cheltenham, Birmingham, Leeds, Kent, Manchester, Bristol, North London and East London. Upcoming shows for the remainder of 2015 will see the launch of Liverpool and West London. Their innovative decision to use iconic destination venues such as ‘premier football clubs’ has proved a success, attracting even more national brands and people through the doors!

For 2016 The Job Show™ will host a series of new launches and an exciting and innovative project commencing mid-January.
