Over 140 of Britain’s leading businesses, business leaders and social enterprises have today been revealed as finalists for the 2015 Lloyds Bank National Business Awards. Some of the shortlisted finalists include IKEA UK & IE, Premiership Rugby, Home Leisure Direct, Ramsden International, Sanofi and Clearvision. They represent categories including the Smith & Williamson Entrepreneur of the Year, Inflexion International Growth Business of the Year and the Market Gravity Innovation Award.

An all encompassing range of industries are represented in this year’s awards, with companies from recruitment and kids clothing to pet food and online marketing selected for the chance to win a National Business Award. The scale of the finalists is just as varied, whether the company is turning over below a million pounds or over £25 million, employing 20 people or over 70,000 people.

Tim Hinton, Managing Director, Mid Markets and SME Banking, Lloyds Banking Group said: “We are proud to be the headline sponsors of the National Business Awards as part of our support for British enterprise. These awards recognise a huge array of talent and the vital role that companies and businesses play in providing growth in our economy.

“We’re pleased to announce that we will be providing business mentoring to finalists and winners - giving them that important sounding board to help their business progress to the next stage in their journeys. Good luck to the finalists and to the judges – choosing the winners won’t be any easy decision!”

Recruitment software company, Bullhorn International is one of the shortlisted companies for the Corporate Citizenship Award, the Managing Director, Peter Linas commented,

“Everyone at Bullhorn is absolutely delighted that we’ve been shortlisted for the Corporate Citizenship award. Our company values are at the core of everything we do and as a result the team is fully engaged in CSR activity. I’d like to congratulate all the other businesses who have been shortlisted and wish them the best of luck for the awards.”

Tom Broughton, Programme Director of the Lloyds Bank National Business Awards said “The quality and range of this year’s entries exceed even those of last year, which is no mean feat. The draw of being involved with the awards has seen companies from all kinds of industries submit applications, which have been narrowed down using our thorough and comprehensive judging process.  We are now looking forward to the next step of the process and meeting some of the finalists face-to-face.”

Another finalist, retailer Better Bathrooms, has been shortlisted for two awards, the Growth Business of the Year and Employer of the Year categories. CEO and Founder, Colin Stevens commented,

“It’s fantastic news to be shortlisted in the UKTI Growth Business of the Year and in the Employer of the Year categories. I strive to create a culture of innovation, giving each employee a sense of ownership on the business and rewarding and promoting from within.  This helps mould talent and nurture progression and it’s great to see staff progress and grow with the company. I’d have it no other way. I believe in my team and this nomination is a team effort.”

Finalists were chosen from the hundreds of businesses that entered or were nominated across 18 award categories. They will now prepare for live presentations to an expert judging panel who will decide the overall winners that will be revealed at the awards ceremony on 10 November.
