Entry FAQ

Am I eligible to enter?

To find out if you are eligible, please register on the website to give you access to all the criteria for each category. Companies must be based or have their head office in the UK to apply. 

How do I enter?

When is the entry deadline?

Entry is open for four months, closing on Friday 19th May 2017.

Will there be an extension?

Any extensions to the deadline will be announced via email and on the website.

I am entering on behalf of another company

If you are an agency entering a company on their behalf, please state the company name on the entry form to avoid confusion. Please ensure you provide your contact details and most importantly those of the company you are entering for. If they become a finalist we will need direct contact with them. 

Our most up to date financial information will not be available to fill out on the form

If you do not have the sufficient information in time for the deadline, please ensure you fill out the financials form using your projected figures. If at a later stage you are able to update it, please let us know.

How much does it cost to enter?

If you enter during the early bird period it costs £195. This price is per submission. The exceptions are the nomination categories and The Duke of York New Entrepreneur of the Year which are free to enter. After Early Bird the cost of entry is £295 +VAT. 

When and how do I pay?

Starting an entry is free and you pay on submission. You can pay, submit and edit an entry up to the deadline if you wish. Payment can be made using a credit card or invoice. 

Can I get a discount?

You can by entering and submitting during our Early Bird period which closes on 14th April 2017. It’s also a good way to enter more than one award to increase your chances of winning.

Do you have an example entry form?

Who are the judges?

The judging panel will be announced on our website in August for each specific category. Our judges bring industry knowledge and category specific skillsets to assess every entry helping us maintain the high standard of the awards.  Take a look  at the judges who were involved in 2016. 

​Can I submit more than one entry?

​Absolutely! Take a look at all of the categories in detail to decide which ones are suitable for your company, there is no limit. Submit during the Early Bird to get discount on your entries.

​I want to nominate someone for an award

​If you wish to nominate someone from your company for an award, please take a look at our 3 nomination only categories. You will need to fill out the entry form using the criteria provided and email the Programme Director when complete.

Can I extend the word limit for my entry?

The limits have been set at a level that we believe offers enough room to fully explain your entry. The word limit cannot be extended.

What happens after I enter?

You will receive an email to confirm that your entry has been submitted correctly. If you do not receive this please contact  Natalie Hill. You will then be contacted in July when the shortlist is announced whether you are successful or not. 

Can I upload any supporting documents?

Each entry form is 1000 words only. When uploading, your upload limit is 15 MB and your document should be no more than 6 pages (3 double sided sheets). You cannot exceed this limit.

What is the judging process?

Judging is a two stage process, done by leaders and experts from across the business world. Shortlisting is done by a small and elite group, with the final judging taking place in September (date will be specified on the entry form). Members of your senior/core team related to the entry will be asked to come and present to a panel. More information will be available if you become a finalist. 

Why should we enter?

Entering The Lloyds Bank National Business Awards generates return for all entrants - regardless of how far you make it through the judging process. Read more on why you should enter.

How many awards are there?

There are 17 categories in total – 3 are nomination only. All awards will be handed out at the ceremony on Tuesday 14th November 2017. 

If I’m shortlisted do I get a discounted table?

If you are shortlisted, you will receive a single complimentary place to the awards where you will be sat and hosted by the sponsor or judges. We advise you to also purchase another table for your company, team or clients to celebrate with.

Can we get feedback if we have been unsuccessful?

We provide bespoke Benchmark Reports for the shortlisted companies who were unsuccessful on the night. This will be sent to you after the ceremony so you can see how the judges scored your entry. 

I do not want to provide confidential financial information, can I still enter?

In order to complete your entry, we will need you to complete the financial form. This information is strictly for use in the judging process and will not be viewed by anyone outside of the judging panel. No information will be published or used on the night of the awards.

Who is the key note speaker this year?

We will not be revealing the key note speaker until the event. It’s a surprise! Previously we have had the likes of William Hague, Buzz Aldrin, Bob Geldof and Sir Ben Ainslie. 

Do I have to buy a table at the awards? 

No – you can buy individual tickets for up to 9 people. 

When will I know if I am a finalist?

The finalist announcement will be at the end of July. You will be contacted via email to let you know if you have been successful or not. We will also announce the shortlist on our website and social media. 

What PR and marketing opportunities will there be if I am shortlisted?

There are a host of opportunities to all shortlisted companies. We run press releases, arrange interviews with media, and cover your story on social media and in email campaigns. You’ll have an opportunity to be mentioned in our supplement in The Times, and get a feature in the Book of Excellence on the night. There are also further opportunities including round tables, webinars and advertising – speak to our Sponsorship Director for more information. 

When and where is the ceremony?

The Lloyds Bank National Business Awards will be taking place on Tuesday 14th November 2017 at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, London. Anyone can purchase a ticket to join on the night.

What are the timings on the night of the event?

The itinerary will be released on our website and emailed to you closer to the event. We usually start the evening around 6.30pm.
