“What a fascinating and rewarding day. All ten of the finalists had a great story to tell. Finding a winner was very difficult. The people, proposals and organisations were very diverse but so many had delivered huge social impact and often with very limited resources. Passion and creativity stood out for me. Whether that was applied to finding jobs, curing illness, engaging the community or protecting the planet. Not just imaginative solutions but a resolute sense that no barrier was big enough to prevent progress. My message? The solutions to extremely difficult problems exist – they just need more support”
- David Stead, Director of Philanthropy, Charities Aid Foundation
